Cutting, Copying, and Pasting.

Cutting, Copying, and Pasting on Audacity is vital to editing your sound. These actions are simple as shown in the exercise below.

In order to copy a track, simply solo the track, and use your finder tool to highlight the portion you would like to copy. You may use the zoom tool to get a more accurate copy of sound wavs. Click on the edit tab, then copy. From there you can add a new track and paste.

The cut and spilt cut options are also available. Repeat the follow steps using your zoom tool and finder to key in on the exact area you need cut. Highlight the area, click on the edit tab and cut.
